Definition

maximum excursion of some parameters describing a given control system for which the system remains stable

Notes

NOTE The most frequent stability margins defined in classical control design are the gain margin, the phase margin, the modulus margin, and – less frequently – the delay margins (see Clause 5 of this standard)
